CANTATE PRESENTS
Composition Competition
Cantate Domino is collaborating with The Curator to host a writing/composition competition.
Our aim is to encourage new texts for composers to write new music for ensembles and churches to sing.
Three winning texts were chosen by the editors of the Curator, each receiving a $500 prize. Texts receiving honorable mentions were each awarded a $100 prize. Texts were judged on content and style such that they could work as a choral text. Texts could be metrical or free-verse and didn’t need to be explicitly religious.

Cantate’s Competition
Cantate Domino will hold a competition where composers can submit tunes for the winning texts. Each song composition submitted cost $20. A winning setting will be selected for each text. Each winner will receive a $500 prize. These pieces will then be performed by the Cantate Domino Ensemble in January 2026.
