Yolanda Lichty

Yolanda Lichty currently teaches grade seven. Her interest in composition started not in music, but in writing. She began writing poetry in her preteens as a way to find God in hard places and wanted to share this with others. But most people she knew didn’t read poetry. They did, however, sing songs. She began to add melodies to her poetry. Yolanda’s music grew from country Gospel to hymns and simple choral pieces after she took a summer course at Faith Builders on arranging music. While she’s still exploring what part composition plays in her life, Yolanda’s goal remains the same—to make what God is teaching her accessible to those that need it.
